PURPOSE:To provide a method and device for manufacturing an H-shape steel which is excellent in toughness and strength and by which uniform properties are obtained. CONSTITUTION:Recess-shaped grooves are provided on both sides of the horizontal roll HU1 or HU2 and in the middle part of the vertical roll VU1 or VU2 of roughing universal mills U1, U2 and also cooling devices 10 for inside and outside surfaces of flanges and cooling nozzles 40 for inside surfaces of radius parts are provided on the front and rear sides. By repeating plural times of high screwing-down after intensively water-cooling the vicinity of the radius parts on the outside surfaces and the radius parts on the inside surfaces of flanges just before rolling, the material is improved and toughness, strength and uniformity are elevated. |
