PURPOSE:To make it possible to lap a workpiece highly accurately into the specified size (thickness) so efficiently extending over a long period of time. CONSTITUTION:At least a part of both main surfaces of a carrier 3 is composed of wear resistant material, while thickness of this carrier 3 is formed into the same one substantially as the desired thickness of a workpiece 6. Differently, each spacer, consisting of the wear resistant material, piercing through the carrier from the main surface side on one side to the main surface side on the other, while its length from the one side main surface side to the other side one is more than the same thickness with that of the carrier and substantially the same thickness as the desired thickness of the workpiece, is installed in plural positions of the carrier. |
