PURPOSE:To display marks indicating the start of next columns at the respective ends of plural columns set in a prepared document without depending on manual input by an operator. CONSTITUTION:The set respective columns are specified by a multiple column discrimination part 6, the next columns of the respective set columns are specified by a multiple column editing part 9 and the kind of the mark for indicating the direction of the starting position of the next column to be added at the end of the column immediately before is selected corresponding to the positional relation of the start of the specified next column and the end of the column immediately before by a column position discrimination part 10. The data of the selected mark is read from a next column position mark data storage part 12 by a format/document editing part 11, corresponding mark data are respectively imparted to the ends of the respective columns and the marks for indicating the positions of the columns of next reading destinations are automatically displayed to the respective columns by a display device 4. |
