PURPOSE:To avoid the consumption of unnecessary output time and printing form by preliminarily setting the output destination on the reception side and ignoring designation of a host device to output response data to this output destination. CONSTITUTION:When an operator uses a keyboard 7 to set the output destination, an output destination setting lamp 17 is lit, and information indicating that, for example, a display device 8 is set as the output destination is stored in an output destination setting part 16. When a control part 6 receives response data from a host device 1, set contents of the output destination setting part 16 are recognized; and if the output destination is not set, response data is automatically sent to a printer 9 and is printed out. If it is set, the control part 6 transfers the control to the output destination setting part 16, and this part 16 processes response data temporarily stored in a display data buffer 15 to control the display to the display device 8. |
