<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a pulse compressing apparatus, which accurately detects a reflecting body by using radio waves and the like and forms the image with excellent resolution. CONSTITUTION:When this apparatus is applied to an underground searching radar, a radio wave is radiated into the ground. The reflected wave from a target is received and detected. After the conversion into the digital signal, the signal is stored in a reflected signal memory. The signal undergoes pulse compression. A pulse compressing apparatus 13 comprises a compressor 13A in the direction of time and a compressor 13B in the horizontal direction, which is in parallel with the ground surface. Before searching, the coefficient of a digital matched filter is stored in the respective memory (-2) of each compressor. The coefficient of a digital reverse filter is stored in respective memory (-3). At the time of searching, the reflected signal is processed in the respective filters (-4) and (-5) of the compressors. The product of the outputs of the respective filters (-4) and (-5) is operated in respective operator units (-6) in the respective compressors. The result of the operation is stored into respective memory (-7) of the respective compressor. The product of the contents of the memories in respective memories (-7) is operated with an operator 13-8 and stored in a memory 13-9. Then, the result of compression is displayed.</p> |
