The flame monitoring systems detects the presence of the flame using the characteristic pressure wave which is converted into a corresp. electrical signal from which a flame presence or flame absence signal is provided. Pref. the pressure wave is converted into an electrical signal via a pressure/voltage converter (12) coupled to a threshold comparator, providing a rectangular signal fed to a frequency/voltage converter. This provides an analogue signal subjected to amplitude evaluating to indicate the presence of absence of the flame. USE/ADVANTAGE - Relatively short response delay for use with safety ignition device.
