PURPOSE:To obtain an agent for preventing accumulation of salts for soil in greenhouse capable of preventing accumulation of salts in greenhouse without requiring a great deal of labor and expenses, comprising hydrophobic particles having hydrophobic nature as a main component. CONSTITUTION:Hydrophobic particles having substantially hydrophobic nature are used as a main component for an agent for preventing accumulation of salts for soil in greenhouse. The hydrophobic particles, for example, are particles obtained by treating particles of sand and/or earth with a water repellent. A silicone-based or a fluorine-based water repellent is used as the water repellent. The thickness of a layer for preventing accumulation of salts is preferably 0.5-500mm. In the case of culturing a plant especially requiring water, the upper layer of the layer for preventing accumulation of salts is provided with a water retaining layer. When a layer containing the agent showing hydrophobic nature is formed in soil, rise in water containing salts is prevented by the layer. |
