PURPOSE:To surely control the damping force of a shock absorber to the desired damping force by estimating the erroneous stepping of a step motor, and surely applying initial setting when the synchronization loss is estimated. CONSTITUTION:A damping force control valve is driven by a step motor M0 in the step motor control device of a damping force-variable shock absorber. The step motor control device is provided with a drive command voltage detecting device M1 detecting the drive command voltage to the step motor M0, an actual drive voltage detecting device M2 detecting the actual drive voltage of the step motor M0, a phase difference detecting means M3 detecting the phase difference between the drive command voltage and the actual drive voltage, and an initial setting means M4 applying initial setting to the step motor M0 when the detected phase difference becomes a preset value or below. |
