PURPOSE:To produce a feed having high nutritive value by heat-treating waste liquid generated by the preparation and processing steps of KARASHI-MENTAI (cod roe spiced with Guinea pepper) under three-stage evacuation conditions using a hot oil as a heating medium. CONSTITUTION:Waste liquid generated by the preparation and processing of KARASHI-MENTAI is heated under stirring by using an animal oil, fish oil or vegetable oil as a heating medium. The heat-treatment is carried out under a pressure decreased from normal pressure by 100-300mmHg in the initial evacuation stage, from normal pressure by 500-700mmHg in the medium evacuation stage and from normal pressure by 700-750mmHg in the final evacuation stage. The water in the waste liquid is removed and the salt component, hot-taste component, clouding component, etc., in the waste liquid is transferred to the oil by this heat-treatment. The treated waste liquid is deoiled by compression or centrifugal separation. The proteins and other nutrients in the waste liquid are stabilized by coagulation and maintained in the product to obtain a feed having high nutritive value. |
