The invention relates to N-[(1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)- aminocarbonyl]benzenesulphonamides of the general formula I <IMAGE> in which R1 denotes a methyl group or an ethyl group; R2 denotes a halogen atom, an alkylsulphonyl group with 1 to 3 carbon atoms, the trifluoromethyl group or the 2- methoxyethoxy group; R3 denotes a hydrogen atom; or one of the groups methyl, ethyl, methyl or ethoxy, or a fluorine or chlorine atom; and R4 denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical; as well as the salts thereof that can be used in agriculture, the processes for the preparation thereof that are described in the claims, and the use thereof in the preparation of herbicidal compositions and in the control of weeds.
