PURPOSE: To allow the time clock of each station of a decentralized data processing network system to synchronize itself. CONSTITUTION: In advance of synchronizing the time clock of the operation system of each station 3a to 3d, what to do first is to latch the count of the free running counter of the network interface of each station at the time of receiving a clock message from a time keeper station. The time keeper station calculates the receiving time of the clock message from the time clock of the operation system and the free running counter to broadcast this time keeper receiving time to another station. Each of the other stations calculates the receiving time of itself from the count of the time of its operating system and the count of its free running counter to correct its operating system time by the difference between the receiving time and the time keeper receiving time.
