ELECTRIC CONNECTOR OF BOARD MOUNTING TYPE

PURPOSE: To provide a base board mount-type electric connector having low insertion force and sufficient holding force and capable of wave soldering or surface mounting (SMT) soldering. CONSTITUTION: A base board mount-type electric connector 10 has a plurality of contacts arrayed in one or more arrays in a housing 12. Each contact has soldering tail parts 40 and 46 protruded from a base board mounting face 14 of the housing 12, tip ends 48 and 56 thereof are substantially linear and have an arc-shaped curved face (curve) smoothly bent with a relatively large curvature radius following this shape. This curved face is inserted and held in a through hole 18 of a base board 16.
