PURPOSE: To provide a method for compensating a dirt or flaw area on a platen for inhibiting spot reproduction to output copy and to provide a picture reproduction device. CONSTITUTION: An original picture is formed and the original picture is sent to a picture processor where an exclusive OR operation is executed between a bit map storage picture 28 and the original picture 28A. A spot 13 is removed from the original picture by the operation. Namely, all the picture elements in the picture 28 identified to exist in the spot 13 are converted from black into white. In a drawing (A), the spot 13 shows a second original picture 28A before a processing, which is outside original information. In a drawing (B), the position of the exclusive OR operation is roughly shown and the corrected original picture shown in a drawing (C) is generated by the operation processing. The original picture 28A is sent to a ROS(raster output scanner) unit for printing output copy that does not show a black spot corresponding to the stained spot, for example. |
