THERMOREVERSIBLE RECORDING MATERIAL AND THERMOREVERSIBLE RECORDING MEDIUM AND RECORDING METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE:To provide a themoreversible recording material which extends the temperature range for keeping a transparent state and strengthen the contrast in the transparent state or a turbid state and a recording method which can conduct printing on the same recording medium repeatedely in a visible condition with a heating means such as a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:A thermoreversible recording material uses polyvinyl acetal as a matrix material. A saturated 10-40 carbon number carboxylic acid or its derivative is mixed with the matrix material. The recording material can be controlled of its state to be transparent or turbid by the difference in the cooling rate between slow and rapid cooling and the heating temperature range of the material as indicated in Figure 1. The recording material mounted on a support is used as a thermoreversible recording medium. The recording medium can conduct printing using a thermoprinting device such as a thermal head and the printed record can be extinguished by thermal treatment.
