Novel ionomer blend (B) contains I 20-60 wt.% of an ethylene-propylene rubber and II 40-80 wt.% of copolymer contg. 25-98.5 wt.% ethylene units and 1.5-30 wt.% carboxylic acid-contg. units, in which at least 10% of the carboxylic acid units are neutralised with metal ions.Blend also contains III up to 10 wt.% of a colouring material which is either carbon black or a pigment, plus IV a U.V. stabiliser. The compsn. may opt. contain an antioxidant. Ethylene is the predominant component in I.Pref. B contains 30-50 wt.% of ethylene-propylene rubber esp. a copolymer rubber which contains 60-80 wt.% ethylenic units. Pref. I is an EPDM rubber where the diene is 1,4-hexadiene. Pref. II is a random ionic copolymer of C2-10 1-alkene units derived from an alpha,beta ethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid.B is used in forming trims in the automotive industry which have low gloss, excellent metal adhesion and good weatherability.DEAB- DE3216279 C A modified ionomer mixt. comprises an intimate mixt. of (a) 20-60% of an ethylene-propylene rubber with ethylene the predominate component (b) 40-80% of a copolymer contg. alpha-olefine units and units contg.carboxylic acid gps. whereby the copolymer contains 25-98.5% alpha-olefine units, 1.5-30% carboxylic acid contg. units and opt.alkyl acrylate units and the carboxylic acid units are neutralised to 10-100% by metal ions and (c) an effective amt. of upto 10% of a dye which is C black or a pigment plus U.V.-stabiliser with or without an antioxidant.
