The invention concerns a procedure and an arrangement for the separation of sliced bakery products which are placed in a queue. In the embodiment of the invention, the first product in the queue is carried to a separate turning plate 4 which turns in the vertical plane about a pivot 9 so that a slot appears between the first and second products, in which slot a tongue 12, functioning as a separation member, pops up. After that, the turning plate resumes its lower position, while the tongue 12 pushes the bakery product 22 into a packing box 24. <IMAGE>
