PURPOSE:To produce a thermal recording material enhanced in recording sensitivity and the light fastness of a recording image by successively laminating an intermediate layer containing microcapsules having an ultraviolet absorber included therein and a thermal recording layer containing a developer on a support. CONSTITUTION:A coating solution for an intermediate layer is prepared by dispersing pigment such as baked kaolin or aluminum silicate and microcapsules with a mean particle size of 0.1-3mum in an aqueous solution of a water-soluble polymer such as sodium alginate and applied to a support such as paper or a plastic film and dried to form the intermediate layer. A coating solution for a thermal recording layer is prepared by dispersing a colorless or light- colored basic dye and a developer such as bisphenol A in an aqueous solution of a binder such as gelatin and applied on the intermediate layer and dried to laminate the thermal recording layer to produce a thermal recording material. |
