PURPOSE:To execute the automatic adjustment of the damping force according to the speed and the amplitude of the expansion of a piston rod and adjust the damping force from the outside of a cylinder in a hydraulic buffer of damping force adjusting type. CONSTITUTION:A piston 2 is fitted to a cylinder 1. Main oil passages 3, 4 are provided, and a bypass passage is constituted by an oil passage 9 and a passage member 8. A shutter 17 is fitted to a guide 10, and held at the neutral position where the bypass passage is opened by means of springs 21, 22. A chamber 10a is communicated with a cylinder chamber 1a by a communicating passage 13, while a chamber 10b is communicated with a cylinder chamber 1b by a communicating passage 18a, and an orifice to give the fluid resistance is provided in the communicating passage 18a. The shutter 17 is rotated by a rod 28, ports 19, 20 are switched to those with different diameters, and the damping characteristic is switched thereby. |
