The knee supports (6) are mounted on flat multi-component force measuring cells (7), which can be piezo-electric. Handles on the holding rod (5) are formed so that they can be equipped with sensors. The patient (1) places his knees on the supports (6), holds himself steady by holding the rod (5) and performs knee-bending exercises. The resultant forces and torques are measured by the cells (7) and supplied to a computer, e.g. PC, and processed by software for functional analysis. USE/ADVANTAGE - Detecting deformation caused, e.g by arthritis; testing quality of prothesis or implant; recovery from accident; sporting ability checking. Can be used by general practitioner.
