The rotor is used for the manufacture of metal powder by a centrifugal atomization method, and consists of a disc section having the diameter of 30-40 mm and the thickness of 3-4 mm a and column section having the diameter of 3-6 mm and the length of 20-30 mm. The rotor is manufactured by sintering silicon nitride (Si3N4) at 1,800 deg.C for 3 hours. The rotor has heat resistance, thermal shock resistance, abrasion resistance, toughness, low heat conductivity, low density and wettability.
