PURPOSE:To obtain a polyolefinic resin composition improved in flame retardancy without substantially impairing the inherent properties by melt- kneading a polyolefinic resin with a specified modified phenolic novolac resin. CONSTITUTION:This composition is obtained by mixing 95-50 pts.wt. polyolefinic resin with 5-50 pts.wt. phenolic novolac resin partially (1-50wt.%) modified with a compound selected from the group consisting of an aromatic hydrocarbon resin, a drying oil, an epoxy resin and a phenoxy resin, and melt-kneading the resulting mixture or mixing this mixture with 5-50 pts.wt. phenolic novolac resin containing 1-50wt.% cocondensed alkylphenol and melt-kneading the resulting mixture. This composition is improved in flame retardancy without substantially impairing the inherent properties. |
