APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING OF FINANCIAL DOCUMENT

PURPOSE: To provide a financial document processing system which eliminates a need of correction of inaccurate printed amounts on documents by holding the input in a buffer area till the end of processing of all documents in a group. CONSTITUTION: A deposited amount on a deposit slip is inputted manually or character recognition in a step 94. An amount of one check is inputted in a step 96, and this check is transferred to a holding buffer in a step 98. It is determined whether all checks in the deposit group are held or not in a step 100. When all checks in the group are held, the balance processing to determine whether the sum of amounts of checks coincides with the amount on the deposit slip or not is performed in a step 104. If it doesn't coincide, an operator performs correction and the balance processing is performed again in a step 106. If it coincides, these checks are taken out from the holding buffer and are transferred to a printing machine in a step 108. The printing machine prints these checks with data in a step 110, and they are placed in an output pocket in a step 112.
