PURPOSE:To provide a synchronization establishing method in a selective calling receiver in which the time till synchronization is established after a synchronization word cannot be received is shortened. CONSTITUTION:When the selective calling receiver is in the preamble search mode reception state by intermittent reception, the counter main body 11 of a counter circuit 7 counts the number of reception pulses synchronously with a synchronous pulse. When the counted number reaches a pulse number (reference number) predetermined in a reference comparator 12 within the prescribed time, a reception mode switching command circuit 13 releases the intermittent reception to set the consecutive reception state, a synchronous word is found out and synchronization is established. |
