PURPOSE: To obtain a combined method and a plant for air separation and power generation. CONSTITUTION: Air is compressed by a compressor 4. A minor compressed air stream is cooled by heat exchange with a pressurized moisturized nitrogen stream at a heat exchanger 12 and cooled, then, by heat exchange with a pressurized water stream at a heat exchanger 14, and the pressurized water stream is cooled with it. The cooled air is separated into oxygen and nitrogen at an air separation plant 16. Oxygen product is fed to a blast furnace 22. Iron ore is reduced to iron at the blast furnace 22 and low grade fuel gas is produced. The fuel gas is made to flow into a combustion chamber 6 and combusted at the combustion chamber with the support of combustion by the remain of the compressed air. Produced combustion gas is expanded in a turbine 8 to generate power. Nitrogen product by the air separation is moisturized by heated pressurized water stream at a gas-liquid contact tower 28. Produced moisturized nitrogen stream is used inside the heat exchanger 12. The pressurized nitrogen flow out of the heat exchanger 12 is expanded in a expansion turbine 32 to generate the power.
