PURPOSE: To produce a radiation sensitive composition containing a resinous binder insoluble in water but soluble in aq. alkali soln. or at least expansive, at least one radiation sensitive compd. and a crosslinking agent as required and to produce a radiation sensitive recording material. CONSTITUTION: This radiation sensitive compd. is an ester obtained from (a) a compd. containing 2-6 arom. hydroxy groups, (b) a ring substd. o- naphthoquinone-2-diazido)-4-sulfonic acid (diazido compd. D1 ) and (c) (o- naphthoquinone-2-diazido)-4- or -5-sulfonic acid which is not substd. more than that (diazido compd. D2 ) and/or a non-radiation sensitive org. acid (compd. D0 ), and a mol. ratio of D1 : (D2 and/or D0 ) is (0.1:1)-(30:1).
