An ironing press (1) has a pressure plate (12) and a heatable counterplate (11), between which an article of clothing, such as a pair of trousers or parts thereof, can be pressed. The ironing press is designed as a portable manual device with a carrying handle (15) in the manner of an unfoldable attache case, with two box-shaped parts (11, 12) linked to each other in an unfoldable manner by hinges (22, 23) or another linking element arranged along one of their sides. One part of the press is equipped with a heating plate (10) regulated by a thermostat and the other is equipped with a compressible elastic cover, and acts as a pressure plate (12). Both parts (11, 12) can be pressed together by means of at least one closure means (24, 24a, 25, 26). |
