The device includes several flexible, elastic splice cards (6) stacked one behind the other in a holder (1) having guide plates (3) which are angled away from the cards. The splice cards each hold a surplus length of optical fibre (13) having a releasable fixing device (9). The splice cards are held in a groove (5) at the base of the holder so that the cards can be folded down. An edge of the card which is perpendicular to the guides on the side of the holder is inserted in the groove. ADVANTAGE - Permits easier access and is compact.
