In a process for the end-face welding of sheet-shaped rigid plastic workpieces (46, 47), the end faces (48, 49) of the plastic workpieces (46, 47) are brought into mutual contact, the plastic workpieces (46, 47) are clamped in this position and the region of the end faces (48, 49) of the plastic workpieces (46, 47) is heated over at least one surface side until in the plastic state. So that even optically satisfactory weld seams can be produced reproducibly with low equipment outlay, the plastic workpieces (46, 47) are guided on both surface sides by means of at least one guide wall (40, 41) covering the region of the end faces (48, 49) of the plastic workpieces (46, 47) and the end faces (48, 49) are heated through the guide walls (40, 41). <IMAGE> |
