PURPOSE: To obtain a treating drug contg. a specified nicotine type compd. and useful to treat a neurodegeneration disease causing cholinergic incompetence, e.g. Alzheimer type senile dementia and Parkinsonism. CONSTITUTION: This treating drug contains an (R)-(+)-type compd. represented by the formula (where R is H or an alkyl, each of R' and X is a substituent other than H, 0<=m<=4 and 0<=n<=7), e.g. (R)-(+)-nicotine. The effective amt. of the compd. is 5-25μg per 1 kg body weight of a patient and the compd. is preferably administered to a patient by 0.1-2.5 mg/hr. |
