PURPOSE:To eliminate the function of a pattern of uneven density in the main scanning direction and improve the image quality level of an image by providing a plurality of recording elements in the main scanning direction and carrying out the formation of image by respective adjoining main scannings by means of a different recording element line. CONSTITUTION:A cap 13 is moved backward and evacuated by a driving mechanism, and a heat carriage 2 is set in the state of being movable in the main scanning direction. Then, while a heat carriage motor 9 is driven by a head carriage motor driver and the head carriage 2 is moved in the main scanning direction, ink is jetted out onto a recording paper 14 by recording heads 1A and 1B, recording is carried out. While the head carriage 2 is moved in the direction opposite to the above-said direction, the recording paper 14 is carrier in the direction indicated by arrow A. When the recording of a sheet of A1 size is completed by repeating the above-said operation, the head carriage 2 returns to the position of being in contact with the cap 13. The cap 13 is moved in the direction B by a driving mechanism and a recording head 1 is capped to complete the recording. |
