PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive highly reliable recording apparatus reduced in the number of parts and assembling manhours by a method wherein a clutch is operated by the cassette mounted on a recording apparatus main body when a lid is closed to connect the axial core of an ink sheet to an ink sheet pressing mechanism CONSTITUTION:A recording apparatus consists of a thermal head 4 having an array-shape heating element 5, a recording apparatus main body 1 having a thermal head 4 attached thereto, the roll-shape ink sheet 3 wound around a shaft core 16 and heated by the selective heating of the heating element provided to the thermal head to transfer and form a visible image on a recording medium, the ink sheet cassette 2 holding the sheet 3 and detachable with respect to the main body l, the ink sheet pressing mechanism 7 provided to the main body 1 and movable in its axial direction and pressing the shaft core 16 to the ink sheet and the clutch 8 having an inclined surface on the contact surface with the mechanism 7. When the lid 6 is closed, the cassette 2 mounted on the main body 1 operates the clutch 8 to connect the shaft core 16 and the pressing mechanism 7. |
