PURPOSE:To automatically set numbers for individual display units in the display device which makes a series of displays by one control part while plural display units are connected. CONSTITUTION:The control part 2 and six modules No.1-No.6 are connected in cascade and the OUT terminal of the module No.6 as the final stage is connected to the IN terminal of the control circuit 2. The control part 2 outputs an H signal in synchronism with a previously set number N of trigger signals which are outputted. Each of the modules outputs the H signal at the timing of a next trigger signal when inputting the H signal, but outputs an L signal in other cases. One is added to the number of the L signal inputted to each of the modules at the point of time when N=6 to obtain the number of the module. The control part 2 can grasp the number of the connected modules from the number of inputted L signals.
