PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive high-quality color filter array element high in definition by providing a polymeric-dye image receptive layer having a thermally transferred image consisting of the repeating pattern of a specified dye on the surface. CONSTITUTION: This thermally transferred color filter array element consists of a substrate having a polymeric-dye image receptive layer having a thermally transferred image consisting of the repeating pattern of a benz-c, d-indole merocyanine blue dye on the surface. In this case, the benz-c,d-indole merocyanine blue dye has a structure shown by the formula. In the formula, R is hydrogen, 1-8C alkyls (e.g. methyl, ethyl, propyl and isobutyl), 2-8C alkenyls (e.g. CH2 CH=CH2 and CH2 CH=CHCH=CH2 ) and 7-12C aralkyls (e.g. benzyl, m-methylbenzyl and p-methylbenzyl), and Z is the atoms necessary to constitute a five or six-membered carbon ring or heterocyclic ring. |
