<p>PURPOSE:To transfer data from the virtual space of a process in a prescribed cluster to the virtual space of a process in the other cluster for reducing the overhead of data transfer between processes in a parallel computer without copying data into a buffer provided in an operating system. CONSTITUTION:A communication area 11 which resides in a real memory is provided for a part of the virtual space of the process, and a unique identifier in the cluster is given to the communciation area 11. When a transmission process gives a transmission instruction at the time of transferring data, a cluster address where a transmission destination process exists and the identifier of the communication area are decided from the name of the transmission destination process, and data is directly transferred between the communication areas of a transmission source process and the transmission destination process. Thus, the overhead of data transfer between the processes can be reduced by eliminating copy between the user space and the buffer provided in the operating system at the time of transferring data between the processes.</p> |
