METHOD OF CORRECTING SURFACE REFLECTANCE IN POLYGONAL SCANNER

PURPOSE: To obtain a uniform laser light beam outputs at all facets (reflection face) of a laser image forming device including a polygonal scanner. CONSTITUTION: (a) Relative reflection factors of the respective facets (0-7) of the polygonal scanner 24 are detected. (b) The gain rate to the minimum reflection factor is calculated. (c) The relationship between the output of the laser 20 of the minimum reflection factor facet and the code value of a D/A converter 16 being a command value regarding it is detected for a measured value. (d) The relationship of all of 2 code values is calculated and a reference table 14 for the minimum reflection factor facet is generated. (e) The output of the laser 20 is adjusted with the relative reflection factor by other facets of the polygonal scanner 24 and the code value having the same laser output with the minimum reflection factor facet is calculated back to generate reference tables 14 for other facets.
