MANUFACTURING DEVICE FOR CORRUGATED COAXIAL CABLE

PURPOSE:To prevent faults such as flaws and deformation from occuring in a core comprising a corrugated copper pipe and an insulating material by interposing a caterpiller supply between a core supply and a corrugator in manufacturing a corrugated coaxial cable from the core and a copper band. CONSTITUTION:A core 53 comprising a corrugated copper pipe 51 and an ultra- high foaming polyethylene insulating body 52 is supplied from a core supply 9 and a tape-shaped copper band is supplied from a tape supply 3 and is molded by a pipe-forming device 6 into a cylinder and its seams 60 are welded by a welding torch 11 to provide a copper pipe 61 and then the core 53 and the copper pipe 61 are integrated together by a corrugator 13 and wound to a winder 15 as a corrugated coaxial cable 1. A caterpiller supply 17 is disposed between the core supply 9 and the corrugator 13 and vibration is prevented from being transmitted from the core supply 9 to the corrugator 13 via the core 53 and the tension of the core 53 being supplied to the corrugator 13 is held constant to stabilize the conditions of corrugating by the corrugator 13, thus stably manufacturing the corrugated coaxial cable having no flaw, partial deformation or pitch disturbance.
