PURPOSE:To improve user's operability by setting a converted KANA(Japanese syllabary)/KANJI(Chinese character) mixed sentence to be a Japanese input to the inside of a device. CONSTITUTION:At the time of detecting the operation of a Japanese input starting key, CPU22 starts a KANJI conversion program through the use of a user interface program. Then, whenever a KANA character string is inputted from an input part 20, a key identification program detects the input of the KANA characters. Next, after confirming that a Japanese input function (mode) is set, a CPU22 converts the inputted KANA string into a KANJI mixed sentence by a KANJI conversion program. At this time, the KANJI dictionary of a dictionary part 25 is referred to. The KANJI mixed sentence converted like this is displayed on a display part 21 by a resident program in the CPU22.
