Seal between two components - has angled contact carriers with linear seal groove

The sealing system is designed to produce a leakproof joint between two components (1,2). The two components of the joints have carrier parts (3,6), which have an angled surface and slide against each other. Linear seals (4,7) are located in grooves cut in the surfaces of the carriers in contact with the two components (1,2). The two contact faces are corrugated (8) in a region away from the seal (5) which prevents leakage between these two angled faces. The corrugations may be sawtooth-shaped, to allow the carriers to slide in the direction of increasing width, but prevent them sliding back. USE/ADVANTAGE - Seal between two components allows a greater separation of two sealed components.
