PROCESS FOR SEPARATING SUSPENDED SOLID PARTICLES FROM LIQUIDS

The method is characterized by using ferrite powder as coagulating and precipitating agent to remove floating impurities in the water. Especially the ferrite powder is premixed with a trivalent metal salt such as aluminium salt and ferric salt, or a synthetic polymer coagulant such as amine and amide polymers to be reformed for use. Used ferrite powder is easily and economically recovered by magnetic separation from the precipitated slurries on the bottom of the purifying tank, and separated floating impurites can be handled by the conventional filtering method. Metal components of ferrite powders do not dissolve since ferrite powders are spinnel structured and so chemically stable.
