PURPOSE:To enhance energy density per volume, improve oxygen absorbing performance, and reduce internal pressure in a charge process. CONSTITUTION:A first active material paste and a second active material paste containing zinc are applied to form a cadmium electrode plate. This is charged and discharged in an alkaline electrolyte, and formed. Zinc is reacted with cadmium to form electrochemically active metal cadmium, whereby the energy density of the electrode plate is enhanced, and the absorbing performance of gas is improved to reduce the internal pressure in a charge process. |
