PURPOSE:To automatically take proper safety measures according to the signal content or a traffic signal which are corresponded to each signal content in the vehicle safety device securing the traffic safety on braking the own vehicle at the place where the traffic signal is installed based on the signal information of the traffic signal. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a safety device 2 securing the traffic safety on braking the own, vehicle at the place where the traffic signal is installed, a signal information detecting means 4 detecting the signal information of the traffic signal, and a control means 6 operating the safety device 2 in different manners according to the content of the signal information received from the signal information detecting means 4. For example, in the case of yellow and red signals, a warning of stopping the own vehicle is sent to the following car. In the case of the yellow signal, whether or not the own vehicle can be stopped at a vehicle stop position in the place where the traffic signal is installed. When the car stop is available, the automatic brake is operated or the warning is sent to the driver of the own vehicle to start the brake operation. In the case of the red signal, the automatic brake is started. |
