The accident prevention procedure uses cyclic evaluation of measuring signals obtained from vibration sensors associated with the bearings for the successive rotor sections (1, 2, 3) and with the rotor shaft. The measuring signals are divided into groups corresp. to the different rotor sections (1, 2, 3), each group containing at least two bearing vibration sensor signals and at least one shaft vibration sensor signal, the bearing vibration signals provided by the sensors for the outer bearings fed to two successive groups. Within each group the bearing vibration signals are summated and evaluated with a given harmonic component of the shaft vibration signal which is used to obtain a transient signal to provide a warning signal. |
