PURPOSE:To improve the articulation of voice talking by setting abort priority of a voice cell high for a prescribed period or for each of voice cells of a prescribed number so as to prevent consecutive abort of voice cells due to congestion of communication paths. CONSTITUTION:A pulse count number stored in a storage means 2 is loaded to a count means 3 and the content of the means 3 is incremented/decremented by an external timing pulse by using the loaded count as an, initial value. A priority addition means 4 is started by a trigger pulse generated when the means 3 makes a full count and the means 4 sets a cell abort priority (CLP) of an ATM cell in a cell processing means 5 to '1'. Thus, the means 5 generates and outputs a voice cell whose CLP is set to '1' for each of prescribed periods or for each of voice cells of a prescribed number from the means 5. Thus, the abort of the voice cell is attained at random or for an optional period even against burst abort of the cells due to congestion of communication paths and the articulation of voice talking is improved. |
