A process and a device for a consumer to test a perfume, at the point of sale is claimed. The perfume is sprayed at a heated or prewarmed surface or rod, at more than 37 deg.C. After use, the rods are cleaned and in a cleaning device, the perfume is recovered from the rods. The perfume and the rods are used again. The rod or other surface to carry the sprayed perfume is of a suitable shape for handling, and a material which retains heat, such as plastics, ceramics, leather, in layers if required, with dimensions not exceeding 11 x 7 cm. It can be flat, and in shapes such as an ice lolly, clover leaf and the like, in different colours, or imitation wood. With rods, the surface is porous, grooved, smooth, perforated or with a skin texture, with a grease or moisture coating or covered with imitation hair to simulate skin conditions. USE/ADVANTAGE - The system is for use at a point of sale for the perfume to be demonstrated by the salesperson and tested by the consumer. The test rods and perfume are recovered after testing, to reduce costs and prevent the ambient atmosphere being loaded with sprayed perfume. The system shows the effect at a perfume specific to the consumer.
