The heat-exchanger comprises one or more sections (1) through which a first medium flows and housed in a vessel containing a second medium. Each section consists of a ribbed plastics plate (2) containing individual passages (3) running in a first direction. Further passages (5) at opposite edges of the plate and at right angles to the first ones connect the latter to each other, and are formed by slotted pipes (4) to which the first passages are connected. USE/ADVANTAGE - Particularly for aggressive liquids, eg in a seawater desalination plant. High capacity, long life and low cost.
