PURPOSE:To improve the non-defective percentage of a magneto-resistance effect head MR in the stage of producing said head and to maintain the high reproduction efficiency of the element by providing the structure in which a high permeability soft magnetic yoke, org. material layer and ferromagnetic magneto-resistance effect element are laminated in this order to said head. CONSTITUTION:An insulating layer 2 which acts as a gap is formed on a ferrite substrate 1 consisting of Mn-Zn. The yoke 4 is then formed by forming a Co90Zr10 (by weight) film by a sputtering method, subjecting the film to an annealing treatment in a rotating magnetic field and working the film by an ion etching method. The org. material layer 5 is thereafter formed by spin-coating an org. material essentially consisting of a novolak resin, patterning the coating by ordinary optical exposure, irradiating UV rays over the entire surface of the org. material pattern, and subjecting the org. material to a heating treatment to thermally cure the same. The yoke 4 is substantially thoroughly embedded into the org. material layer 5 and is flattened by the above-mentioned stage, by which the step to be formed by the yoke 4 after th formation of the org. material layer 5 is decreased. The MR element 3 having the compsn. Ni81.5Fe18.5 (by weight) and 400Angstrom film thickness is thereafter formed on the org. material layer 5. |
