<p>An electrical apparatus (10) comprising a container (12) adapted to contain an electrical mechanism (13), the container (12) including a wall (14) having an outer surface (16) and having therethrough a bore (18), a bushing (20) including a contact (22) adapted to be connected to the electrical mechanism (13), a portion (30) extending through the bore (18), and a surface (38) facing the outer surface (16) of the wall (14) and having therein an endless recess (40), the recess (40) surrounding the portion (30) and having an area, an endless gasket (44) located in the recess (40), surrounding the portion (30), and having an area when the gasket (44) is uncompressed that is less than the area of the recess (40), and studs (54) for securing the bushing (20) to the container (12) and for compressing the gasket (44) between the bushing (20) and the outer surface (16) of the container (12).</p> |
