<p>The present invention relates to an x-ray tomography apparatus (14) having x-ray tomography components (40,44,46-49) mounted for rotation around a patient. Such apparatuses are typically very massive resulting in high associated costs and restrictions in mobility. The present invention reduces the massiveness of these apparatuses by providing lighter power supply components (48,46) and a more versatile structural arrangement. X-ray apparatuses are thus provided which are more mobile and thereby more available for difficult to reach locations. In particular a wireless communication link is provided between the scanning means and relatively fixed data processing means. <IMAGE></p> |
