<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an ink compsn. excellent in pigment dispersion and gloss retention by using as the essential component a dispersant comprising a polyhydric alcohol ester of a condensed hydroxylated fatty acid having a specified degree of condensation. CONSTITUTION:A hydroxylated fatty acid (e.g. recinoleic acid) is condensed under heating to give a condensed hydroxylated fatty acid having a degree of condensation of at least two, which is esterified with a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. tripentaerythritol) under heating in the presence of a catalyst such as sodium hydroxide to give an ester. A dispersant comprising the ester is used as the essential component for dispersing a pigment (e.g. phthalocyanine blue) in an org. liq. (e.g. toluene), giving an ink compsn. Thus, the pigment dispersion is stabilized and the occurrence of flooding, floating, etc., is prevented.</p> |
