PURPOSE: To easily and surely mount the adhesive tape of a symmetric cross section on a novel feed roll and to separate it without shock after splicing with a feed roll close to the end of feeding in order to automate the splice of web starting end of the novel feed roll to the web of the feed roll close to the end of feeding. CONSTITUTION: In order to splice a feed end web 8 of the former feed roll, an adhesive tape 6 is provided as a double coated adhesive tape having an adhesive layer 12 of equal and strong adhesiveness applied on a first surface side and a plurality of adhesive layers 16 of different strength mutually parallel arranged on a second surface side and this adhesive tape 6 is constituted so as to cover a roll web start end part 2 of a novel feed roll 1 in view on the cross section and to fix the position of the roll web start end part on a second layer 7 of roll web of the novel feed roll 1.
